Gonk Films is a production house that primarily focuses its energy on music videos, short films, commercials and new media.

We strongly believe in and take advantage of the creative bridges that can be initiated through artistic undertakings. We pride ourselves in being able to close the gap between some of the various imaginative mediums that are popular today, such as film production, visual effects, motion graphics and photography. Additionally, our previous industry experience permits us to oversee and accomplish otherwise costly post-production work.

Music and moving images both have the inherent power to exhilarate the senses. The ensuing amalgamation of these forms of expression should be capable of elevating both of these to whole new levels of entertainment and enlightenment. At Gonk, not only do we try to achieve such heights, but we raise the bar.

We are not in the business of dealing with clients. We collaborate with fellow creative minds in order to push both parties to reach their full potential.

DIRECTORS:

Benjamin Lussier

Benjamin Lussier
Benjamin Lussier entered the world of visual effects and broadcast design at age 18 while completing his studies in Cinema and Communication at Dawson College in Montreal. His credits include numerous shows and music videos like Cirque du Soleil’s LOVE, Damien Robitaille’s Je tombe and Matt Pokora’s Catch me if you can, as well as countless commercials and promos for Mega Blocks, Mc Donalds, Icebreakers and many more.

Fascinated by film production, Benjamin furthers his studies in lighting and film photography in 2006 and 2007.

A year later he founds Gonk Films. Benjamin oversees the undertaking of an ambitious short film aptly named The Diary. Acting as writer, director and producer, the experience garnered over the course of the production broadens his knowledge of filmmaking and adds finesse to his craft. In late 2008 he quits his post as creative director at Skuad Studios to pursue his filmmaking aspirations.

Nick Lacroix
A graduate of Concordia’s communications department, Nick’s knowledge of the film industry’s inner-workings began to develop at an early age.

Respecting and appreciating the creativity invested in film projects, he aspires to bring the many visions of talented directors to life through Gonk.
Nick’s work over the past few years includes working under Dominique Desrochers at Agoodah Pictures and a stint for DreamWorks SKG managing on-line content and short film projects.

A team player at heart, Nick has a penchant for projects that offer creative challenges while having the potential to fulfill audience satisfaction.

Charles-Antoine Dupont

Charles-Antoine Dupont
Charles-Antoine Dupont did his Cégep studies in sciences and music, before starting a bi disciplinary program at Concordia University in fine arts and computer sciences.

His versatile nature cements his status as a valuable asset as part of the Gonk team.

Among his preferred tools for creation, Charles-Antoine counts on both photography and the web.

His years of experience dabbling various and ever-evolving web technologies, paired with his high interest in technology, contributes to the team’s confidence when it comes to the emerging media domain.

 

R&D:

Guillaume Lussier

Guillaume Lussier
After completing his studies in computer science and spending numerous years working in the video game industry, Guillaume Lussier now focuses his time and energy on new media and computer generated imagery. In the fall of 2008, he pursues training in Veejaying and Processing at the société des arts technologiques de Montréal (SAT). Since 2007, Guillaume has developed many applications geared towards generative art and real-time video tracking.

His main interests gravitate towards interactive video, multimedia scenography and generative imagery.
